Character Quotes from Thermometers & Therapy ~ A Love in the City Romance by Dellani Oakes

Face twisted with anger, the woman grabbed Autry’s cuffed hands, pulling sharply upward. Roaring in pain and anger, he tried to kick her. The officer laced her leg through his, slamming his hips against the railing as she shoved his upper body forward. He dangled by her grip and pin. Tipping precariously, head first, he stilled.

“See that? That’s the air conditioner enclosure, Shelly. Unless you want to be on a first name basis with it, I suggest you hold still. I don’t have a real strong grip on you, and I’m less than half your size. You settle down, or you’ll meet Dave Lennox personally.”

“Who the fuck is he?”

She tipped him further. Autry screamed.

“Language, Shelly. There are kids and ladies present. You guys got him now?” she asked as her companions grabbed various bits of Sheldon Autry.

Sheepishly silent, they dragged him downstairs.

“What’d she mean about Dave Lennox? Who’s Dave Lennox?”

“He built air conditioners, you schmuck. And he’s dead,” the one to his right replied.

Autry got more manageable at that point.
