Maylynn stood with her arms crossed, foot tapping. She tried so hard to look mad, but she couldn’t maintain it. Rushing toward me, she pulled me away from the kitchen.
“So, tell me! Tommy missed the display this morning and got worried. When I saw your car here, I knew something was up. Spill!”
“Ben and I know each other.”
“I got that. Jeesh, wipe that grin off your face. I’m so jealous! Know Biblically, I’m guessing.”
“Epically,” I added.
Maylynn giggled, bouncing up and down. “Oh, my God, is all of him as nice as his abs?” She whispered.
“Yeah, if you like jacked and hard bodied,” Ben said behind us.
Maylynn blushed, trying to make herself invisible. “Oh, just open the damn floor and swallow me up!”
Laughing, he handed her a bottle of IBC root beer. “Nice that you noticed. It means that every gut wrenching sit up has been worth it.”
“God, yes!” She blushed again. “I’m sorry. I’ve been divorced a few months now. Before that, he was having an affair with my sister-in-law.”
